Okuma Beach Military - Carney Park is an operation of the Navy MWR Naples, Italy. This unique park is located in the crater of an extinct volcano. There is a golf course, several sports fields and an olympic size swimming pool.
You can also rent bikes, tents, and other recreational equipment, or book tours through the Navy Outdoor Recreation Center. Ok, so it's not exactly a hike, but for incorrigible strollers, this hour-long walk from Watsons Bay through Sydney Harbor National Park to South Head will give you an idea.

The route is scenic, following the cliffs above Lady Bay Beach (famous for nudists) and ending at Hornby Lighthouse with panoramic views across the harbor to North Head and Manly. Two centuries of gun emplacements will please the military enthusiast, while passing whales are easily spotted during the May-November migration season.
Carney Park Italy
If you are looking for an OCONUS getaway near the Tokyo/Yokohama area of Japan, Tama Hills is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. This military recreation area includes a golf course and several other sports fields.
You can also enjoy hiking, mountain biking and archery. In addition, the Outdoor Recreation Office rents a wide variety of camping, sports, and outdoor equipment. Pine Grove cabins are rustic. They have a bunk bed and a double bed without linen and do not have an en suite bathroom.
The cabin has a refrigerator and microwave along with an outdoor picnic table and fire pit. The price is very reasonable, $25-30 a night in 2018. Don't forget to pack your sheets! Standard staterooms sleep up to six people and cost $127 a night.
Condo units can also sleep six people for $159 a night. Other options include rustic Cedar Camper cabins ($40/night) and family-friendly campsites ($27/night). You can take a short ferry trip to the oldest city in Europe, Cádiz, or drive to the famous city of Seville.
Tama Hills Recreation Center Japan
The Rota Outdoor Recreation office organizes great day and night trips, including hiking, skiing, canyoning and mountain biking. Their ticket and tour office organizes fun outings such as a sherry-tasting cellar tour, flamenco shows, and regional city tours.

Two-bedroom cabins sleep up to five people and cost $169 a night. The three-bedroom cabins sleep up to seven guests for $199 a night. Each cabin has a kitchenette and free Wi-Fi. When you stay in the cabins, you have access to all of the Wild B.O.A.R.

There are different types of rooms in the cabanas. The Studio gives you one bed and one bath and the Premier Studio gives you two beds and one bath. A suite has a bedroom with two beds, a sofa bed, and a bathroom, and the Suite Plus gives you all of that plus a bathroom.
All have northern beach views with easy access to dining and entertainment. Suites can accommodate up to six guests, while studios can accommodate two. The peak summer season for this OCONUS military resort is late May through early August.

. A good medium-range walk is the 10km return Karloo Track, which leaves conveniently from Heathcote railway station for those without transport. Pass stunning rock outcrops, waterfalls and Karloo Pool, just the place for a picnic and a refreshing dip.
Avoid this walk after rain as it tends to get tougher. AI Beach Cottage - Couples Cottage - Perfect for just that, two adults. The benefit of this seclusion is that you get a golf cart since you are so far from everything else.
Couples Cabin
You're truly away from everything, including strong cell signal, so it's the perfect respite for rehoming or an anniversary. Comes with a private beach and cove right outside the cabin, plus a porch with a hot tub and BBQ!
The kitchen set-up is minimal (just a small fridge), but when you can cook outdoors, who needs indoor kitchen space? Enjoy an escape to paradise on the lush island of Kauai. It takes a little extra effort to reach this OCONUS military zone, but you'll be rewarded with peace, quiet, and incredible views!
Barking Sands is also a great base camp from which to explore one of Hawaii's lesser-visited islands. When you stay at Barking Sands, you also have access to other PMRF facilities, including a fitness centre. Plus, the community recreation center rents out all the equipment you need to enjoy your time at the beach.
Located far north in Kunigami Village, Okinawa, the US Army's Okuma Beach Recreation Area is the perfect place for a day visit or a multi-day vacation. However, it can be exhausting when you are enjoying the Habu Links nine-hole golf course, miniature golf, tennis, basketball, go-karting, batting cages, playgrounds, camping, diving and activities at the beach.

During our very busy three day vacation, my family and I fueled up a few times at Okuma's waterfront Surfside restaurant. This beautiful military recreation area is located on Waimanalo Beach in southeast Oahu, Hawaii. Bellows offers 117 accommodations, including cabins, apartments and campsites.
You can rent almost any type of beach, camping or sports equipment at Turtle Cove Recreational Station. The resort also offers fun adventures like snorkeling excursions, stand-up paddleboarding lessons, and Hawaiian culture classes. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the first day of 2020♡.

Okuma Beach is a military location on the north side of Okinawa and has the most beautiful beaches 🤍 The menu changes depending on the time of day. In the morning, the menu includes gravy with biscuits, three omelettes, pancakes or waffles and cereals;
there is sometimes a breakfast buffet on the weekends. Lunch includes sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, Okinawan favorites like soba and taco rice, and a few chicken and seafood options. Mid-afternoon from 2-5pm, Surfside serves only a few dishes, such as hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets (all with fries or veggie sticks), or chef's salads.
Bellows Air Force Station
The real fun begins at dinner. These peaceful beach cabins are located on Marine Corps Base (MCB) Hawaii. They offer spectacular views of Kaneohe Bay, a beautiful stretch of Oahu's coastline. You can also enjoy other MCB Hawaii amenities while you are there.
The famous Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course is known as one of the best (and most beautiful) military courses. You might think that an hour in Sydney traffic won't get you beyond the city limits, and you'd be right.
But you don't have to leave the city to go hiking. There are large pockets of outdoor enthusiasts in the suburbs, offering a chance to stretch your legs without a long journey. Walks can last an hour, half a day or a week if you take on the challenge of the Great Coastal Walk along Sydney's entire Pacific Ocean.
Do your best and Sydney will reward you with great city walks. Tama Hills has a lodge with rooms ranging from $50 per person to $88 per DV. Cabins are $77 and up. Visitors can also stay in a yurt or campsite.

The laundry room is larger than most laundry rooms in island homes. The rooms are all fairly similar in size, though the website lists them as two standard rooms and five bedrooms. Whether you're planning a farewell, reunion, or multi-family vacation, you'll have plenty of room for each family and all the supplies for the kids at this Okuma Resort option.

When you consider that the prices can be split between multiple families, this is a great deal. The resort books up quickly for festival events, so call ahead to reserve as early as possible. The cancellation policy applies 72 hours before arrival, so there is room to change plans if needed.
Okuma Beach is an amazing military beach resort in northern Okinawa, Japan. About a 90-minute drive from Kadena Air Force Base, it's a great break from the US military bases in the center of the island.
Multi-Family Cabins
You can enjoy a variety of beach and sea activities, including jet charters, glass bottom boat rides, and snorkeling. Okuma Beach also has facilities for tennis, golf and go-karting. My family and I tried the Baked Surfside Special, a large combo pizza with four meats and four vegetables, enjoyed a large portion of ribeye steak, tried the Okuma Special Blend Curry, which comes with a chicken cutlet and rice, and a variety of hamburgers, hot dogs, Alaska pollock, and Bara Bara chicken.
The food was delicious with no complaints from our group. Almost everything came with some side dishes and a drink too; the children's meals included a scoop of ice cream. The service was quick and polite, but the staff didn't speak much English, not that this was a problem on our visits.
If someone in the party is a member of the US Air Force Club, a 10% discount is available. Who says Sydney is all about the harbour? Lane Cove National Park in Northern Sydney has many bush tracks and you mustn't miss the water as they follow the river to Lane Cove where the local bass hide.
The river and several streams provide a microclimate that supports delicate ferns and flowers, as well as birds such as loons and spoonbills. The Riverside Walk is five kilometers long, but the bravest can tackle the 20km section of the Great North Walk, which is only slightly hilly but contains many steps.
Reading Beach Japan
You can camp or stay in cabins under the towering blue gums. This full-service military retreat, OCONUS, is located in Seward, Alaska, just over two hours from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Anchorage. It offers year-round activities for the adventurous traveler, including charter fishing excursions, snow sports, hiking, zip lining, and glacier viewing.
As a military resort, Okuma Beach is super affordable and offers a wide variety of accommodations! There is a standard suite (with different variations depending on the number of beds), cabins for small and large groups, a honeymoon cottage on a private beach and even campsites!

Seward Military Resort Alaska
Camping is the best way to connect with nature and the scenery - you can't complain. Okuma Resort has a family campsite on the beach and a separate children's campsite. They are located in very different areas and have specific silence times for families or adults respectively.
You can also glam camp or glamp. If you want the full camping experience, each tent is equipped with a power supply, folding cots, two sets of chairs, air conditioning, a fire pit and a table.
As of 2018, this option was a very reasonable $25 a night. While the restaurant is the only option for dining out at the Military Recreation Center, other than driving to Kunigami Village Base, we found the restaurant operated by the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Unit at Kadena Air Force Base very interesting.
Seating in Surfside's spacious dining room is furnished and decorated with a subtropical island motif. Soft Okinawan colors along the walls, sturdy rattan-inspired chairs, colorful placemats, and a few Okinawan photos along the walls help maintain the festive vibe that emanates from the resort-like activity next to the restaurant.
Cabin Options
The Sunset Villas are glamorous new cottages with a master bedroom (with two beds and a sofa bed) and a separate sofa bed in the living room. The U-shape of the cabins transforms the enclosed patio into a large open dining space.
The kitchen inside offers no stove or microwave, but there is a grill next to the outdoor table. Turtle's Nest Beach House is a new addition to the resort. These cabins have a loft with two sleeper sofas and two bedrooms on the main floor and an extra sofa in the living room.
It can be the perfect booth for a wet party, holiday or even a kids birthday party with your best friend and their kids. This beach home offers amenities like cookware and an outdoor storage box for those beach toys after you've enjoyed your beach time.
